Adam: Mighty Senior

Today of course in Minnesota is the first day of school. We have a Senior this year. We have been through the Senior year before, just three years ago our oldest son JJ graduated from highschool. This morning, Adam was up early, we have farm chores to do before getting ready for school. I awoke to be on bacon and egg detail, along with filling out the school paperwork I had been procrastinating on.

And again, we talk about "choices" with Adam, reminding him that he needs to think for himself and not "follow" certain individuals who are continually making some bad choices. Like calling last night at 9pm wanting Adam to come out to celebrate the last day of Summer .... NOT!! We don't allow phone calls after 9pm in our house in the first place.

We talk about "choices" on a daily basis with him, it is a constant conversation even though he is almost 18, ADD fogs his brain and he gets caught up in the attraction of other things. When he was younger, it was hard to keep him "settled" ..... some days, it still is, but it is also comforting to look back at where we have been and the progress he has made.

He has mastered getting a driver's license, which he wanted so bad. He has the responsibility of driving himself to and from school, chores when he gets home, helping work the auctions, he even gets himself to church when I am out of town (which I am very pleased about).

And so, I pray, as always that this will be a good Senior year for him. That he will remember who he is in Christ when choices arise, and that he will make the right one.

Keep going Adam, hang in there ...... be God's!! And off you go to be a Senior!!

Love You,

Mom
