Good Day

It was a productive sort of day. I made brownies which surprised my family, answered emails, sent emails, listed all the youth dates on the Conference Calendar, started packing for TYL Camp, did some mowing, and walked to the creek tonight.

Good day. I love to mow lawn, strange but true. Maybe because I have a rider lawn mower, actually not mine and belongs to my brother-in-law. It is starting to shake-rattle-roll so maybe it's time I gave it back. He can have it back next week while I'm at camp so I want to finish up mowing tomorrow. Then he can fix and and sharpen the blades again so I can use it. I'm terrible. I'll have to make him some brownies for being a good sport.

There is something about mowing ..... maybe it's the fact that I can be by myself and just think and also look back and see that I have accomplished something. It was so nice outside today and tonight. I hope it continues.

Not much more to report and I'm off to bed to read for awhile before sleep.

Boggin: Day 1

My friend Claudia (aka: the preacher's wife) has told me I should blog, so we'll see how this goes. I don't think I am very interesting, she is. I "live" youth ministry. Coordinate what is called the MN United Methodist Youth In Action Team which consists of about 100 7th-12th graders across the state of MN. Claudia thinks I have brain damage for working with teenagers. She amazes me ........ and I have so much respect for what she does. She is the mother of 10 adopted children, oh did I mention most have special needs of some sort? She also is the poster woman for adoption .... doing speaking gigs all over the country and making connections with kids who might not otherwise get a chance to have a family. She is a blessing, a good Mom, an example of Christ, a marshmallow but can stop a kid cold with a look, and a great writer .... and so for her ..... I'll blog.

Really what we do is very similiar .... connecting kids. Claudia connects them with a family and I hopefully connect them with Christ. Different gifts, same purpose .... something to write about I suppose. So, hopefully, you'll find something worth reading here. Maybe I'll post a few little devotionals I write evey now and then and maybe when they preacher's wife gets back in town she can help me put a picture on here for my profile ... now wouldn't that be snazzy.

and so .... I'll blog. Today ... is day 1 ..... and we're off.

Peace,

Lori
