The Answer

A couple blogs ago I posted a question regarding "does it matter?" doing what I do? And "what is wrong with being a shepherd?". This past week, God answered my question in the most blessed way.

I spent all of last week in St. Cloud. Leaving on Monday morning when most people were relaxing over the holiday, I was on the road. Spent Monday evening at the St. Cloud Holiday Inn with Leslie in anticipation of two meetings on Tuesday morning for the JUMYs/UMYs events before heading over to Annual Conference.

Monday evening I was blessed to spend time with Leslie, a nephew, a neice, and great-nephew (Tyrese road back to St. Cloud with me to meet up with his Mom .... note to self: never give a 7yr. old a caffeinated beverage). We spent time together at the hotel swimming and hanging out, out for pizza ......... I love being an Aunt. It was a special blessing spending time with these "kids", who are now adults, that I have watched grow up. They have turned out to be mature, responsible adults ... and parents (I promised Leah I would never give her son caffeine again ... smile). I was blessed by that time together.

Tuesday was off to meetings and Annual Conference. Beginning with two meetings with the Holiday Inn and joined by several youth, they went well. It is a blessing to me to work side by side with teenagers, including them in decision making processes, seeing the pride in their eyes as they are included in such things.

My Annual Conference experience last year was not a good one. Several nasty issues that had to do alot with adults manipulating kids and then wondering why I get upset .... and too you that were responsible for that .... I say "duh!". THIS year was different. THIS year was Spirit-filled. THIS year, God answered my question of "does it matter?"

THIS year ..... I was able to see the fruits of the labor. The light through the period of darkness. The mountain after the pit. The grace of God in my life. The investment(s) have yielded BIG gains.

"Does it matter?" .............. Thank you Jesus for reminding me that it does. Amen.
